★ MURDER AT THE WEISSHORN LODGE — a 1972 Alpine whodunit for 4-12 players ★
Get it on Etsy → Instant digital download · print at homeThe road up to the Weisshorn has been shut since Wednesday and the telephone line went with it. There is a handful of people left in a lodge built for sixty, a generator, and enough in the cellar to last the week. The plough is expected on Monday. Kurt Halder went out before it was light on Friday morning, and the guide found him at eleven at the foot of the north couloir, two hundred metres below the funicular hut. Everyone in the building assumed the mountain had taken him, the way it takes one or two a winter.
Then on Friday night his sister put down her glass and told the room she had loosened his bindings on Thursday evening — that she had meant only to break his leg and keep him off the Monday train, and that his death was her doing. Nobody made her say it. She has not taken a word of it back. And she is wrong. Your guests will spend the first hour being kind to her, and not one of them will ask the only question that matters.
• 12 painted character portraits, one on every character sheet
• A "Meet Your Characters" page so your guests can see the whole lodge at a glance
• A painted cover of the ski room
Nobody hands out a plain sheet of text any more. Your guests get a face to play.
The 6 at the centre carry the mystery — the agent from Zurich who has already drawn and spent his commission on a sale, the sister who confesses in the first ten minutes, the guide who was told in January that the new owners are not keeping one, the wife who quietly moved her things into the staff annexe in December, the young instructor who has been putting a quarter of the lift passes in his own pocket, and the cook of forty winters who has no contract, no pension and nothing at all to show for it.
6 more of the snowed-in lodge each get a full sheet of their own: a motive, an alibi, something they saw, and a reason to be nervous. Nobody at your table just watches.

1. Print. A4 and US Letter are both included — print at 100% on plain paper.
2. Hand out. One character sheet per guest. At 4 players you use the core 6; at 12 you hand out every sheet in the file.
3. Play. Three rounds, roughly 90-120 minutes. Clue cards go out at the top of each round.
4. Accuse. Everyone fills in an Accusation Sheet. Read the Solution page aloud — whoever names the murderer, the method AND the motive wins.
You can host AND play. No character sheet tells its owner they are the killer, so read your own and leave the last two pages — the Murderer’s Envelope and the Solution — in an envelope until the vote.
Dinner parties, game nights, girls’ nights in, birthday celebrations, Halloween gatherings, and evenings when a group of friends wants something to do together — small groups and large.
